Fine Points-

FINE POINTS- Larchmere Blvd, Cleveland OH, totally loved this yarn shop. Here's the website, http://finepoints.com/index.html Will definately try to visit it again if I'm in the area.

This is me inside the doorway . Carol Ann is taking the photo, and it's raining, and she is holding the only umbrella we had between the two of us, so that's why there isn't a shot of me and the signage for the store, but you'll get a better view of the shop in the photos below.
This was a really cool place, and the ladies there were very nice. Liz and the nice yarn shop lady in black; didn't think to ask for her name, and I should have done a photo, oh well.
I think I startled her when I was taking pictures of the buttons, I explained that I wanted to post my visit on my blog. Liz recommended the Turkish restaurant, which we didn't get to visit, and even offered to drive us if she could! Never had that kind of customer service before! There was a great scarf that I want to make from Twisted Sister that had beads incorporated into it. http://www.chezcas.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CC&Category_Code=0010k-GildaBeadedScarfKits. I found an example of the beaded scarf on the chez casuelle website. Definately a new "twist" on scarves.

This is part of the wall of buttons- couldn't believe all the different kinds. I'm thinking I'll pick up the buttons for the Tangerine Twist while I'm at the Knaughty Knitter on Monday. Hope they have as good a selection as this.

Here's a view of the shop from the taxi on our way back to the hotel.

A bit better on the photography. Totally love the shop being right on the main road

Just a sampling of what they had to offer-

and now what I bought -------

Hand painted yarn for socks- includes a "Simple Sock Pattern", we'll see!

-the blue and brown "tweedy" I was hunting.

Yarn for the Travel blanket

I got the idea for my travel blanket from the Purly Gates, no longer open : - ( a way to use up leftover yarn. I started a blanket using yarn I have picked up on my travels, or that people have brought back for me. There is no rhyme or reason to what I choose, just something that makes me strikes me as unique or exceptional. Then again there is a lot of yarn that strikes me that way, so often restraint must be used, and I have to pick out the one that is "just right. Once the blanket is finished I'll do a posting on it---need to finish it soon, so I don't forget where all the yarn came from!

Made some great progress on the knitting, and will do an update after vacation, maybe I'll have a thing or two finished!
