30 days of thankful continues

12. 13. and 14.

so thankful for these 2 awesome ladies-my sisters in law Karen and Mary.  They are the best, always willing to share their knowledge, and lend a helping hand.  I consider their friendship one of my biggest blessing.

of course, I can't forget the rest of the in-laws Polly and Roy and Ron (Marc too).  Always kind and generous, really can't say enough about how good they've been to me.  Also, what a great example they have set for me.

and perhaps a bit more selfish, a new sweater. the photo is from an odd angle, but I wanted to post it ASAP, so there you go.  I love everything about it. I'm glad that I have a hobby that provides me with a challenge, makes me feel productive, and at the same time can bring me a sense of peace.  I'm also thankful that if I fall behind on my postings there's no judgement!  Happy Friday.

Thanksgiving yumminess.

This week's 10 on Tuesday makes me realize how close Thanksgiving really is, and then Christmas and the new year . . . goodness, so my 10 favorite sides are

10.  Cranberry chutney-have found a easy recipe that I love so it's on the table every year
  9.  Roasted root veggies (carrots, potatoes, etc.)
  8.  Brussels Sprouts (my Mom and I are the only one's who eat them, but we love them)
  7.  Green beans (I like them plain everyone else likes the casserole, so often we have both)
  6.  Mashed potatoes (another thing everyone else eats, but I normally don't)
  5.  Rolls (loved them fresh baked, but often there is not enough time to make this happen)
  4.  Apples (like a chunky applesauce)
  3.  Succotash (we don't have this every year, but it is a dish I enjoy)
  2.  Gravy (I guess to go with #6?)
  1.  Stuffing (may absolute favorite, and I like it if it has a bit of crunch to it)

Looking forward to Thanksgiving this year, even though most likely PJ won't be there to eat with us.  It will seem a bit odd, but I guess I'd better get used to it, right?  He has promised that he won't spend the day alone eating cold pizza or something else like that.

to honor and thank.

I would be remiss if I didn't use today's 30 Days of Thankful day to honor those who have served our country and who continue to do so.  My dad and both brothers have served in the military, as has my father in law, and other members of his family. I have a video from yesterday's Falcon's game where members of the Ga Army National guard were on hand to unfurl the flag and sing the national anthem.  Having trouble uploading it, so I'll just use this photo for now.

in no certain order.

30 days of thankful for days 7,8 & 9.

seeing my aunts and a few of my cousins for a gathering that is not after a funeral. I really should spend more time with them, it's not like they are hours away.  Must improve on this-Carrie, in the middle is the youngest, and Marcia on the end used to babysit me. I loved playing with her very long hair. Lots of fun memories.

grateful for a day to myself-nowhere to be, just a few things around the house, a quick errand, knitting, watching tv, and getting caught up on project life (yea! love being caught up).

and am very grateful for this sweet girl-wanted to wait until she'd been groomed to take her photo.  such a wonderful companion.

Days 5 & 6

trying not to fall too far behind, or too repetitive!

Day 4- grateful for my job-and a very understanding boss who most assuredly would NOT allow himself to be posted on my blog!
Day 5- a warm place to sleep, many do not.
what's really important about these 2 is that they are things i haven't had to do without.

Falling back.

This week's10 on Tuesday prompt is about thoughts on the time change-I think most people would agree, it's a love-hate relationship.

10. marks a "season" which i love and since the recent time change is for fall-it means i get to see beautiful fall colors.
 9. i hate that it's darker sooner cause it makes getting to the dog park during the week more difficult, and i hate driving in the dark.
 8. i don't like having to reset all the clocks, am glad the iphone and the computer do not have to be reset
 7. it takes a while to get adjusted to the new time, i like sunshine.
 6. now it's not dark when i drive to work.
 5. it seems to get colder sooner, or is that just me?
 4. it's dark whenever i walk sophie (morning and evening)-dislike!
 3. i think i get sleepier sooner-might not be a bad thing?!
 2. when it's fall it's time for new foods (heartier soups, baked breads, etc.)
 1. i'm not sure why we keep doing it-tradition?
