What I love about traveling for business is that someone else --

-pays the tab
-makes the bed
-washes the dishes
-cooks the food
-cleans the room
-doesn't make a mess

What I like to do-
-read
-eat when, where and what I want- no haggling
-watch what I want on TV

Best of all there are not bathroom hogs!

Here's a view of my suite

Here's Carol Ann and I on our way to the airport- [gotta work on not looking like a turtle sticking it's head out in these shots.] This is the first time I took MARTA all the way down, we were entertained by a lady singing old time gospel music, or spirituals, she was very good.

What I like about traveling with Carol Ann-

she totally understands -
**my knitting obsession and joins me on my yarn shop excursions
**accepts and assists with my need to be fed on schedule and my need for coffee

On the other hand-

I totally get her

**desire to spend "hours" in a book store- new and used
**love of ethnic food
**willingness to let her sleep on the plane when we travel- I read or knit

For me it's a win/win situation, cause I like these things as well. Best of all we both realize we are not joined at the hip!
We have both have a background in education, specifically history, maybe that's why we get along so well?

Things I did in Cleveland

Tuesday- we got in about 4:30 pm, checked into the hotel got a cab and went to the Fine Point yarn shop on Larchmere Blvd, more about that on another post
ate dinner at the Larchmere Tavern and then headed back to the hotel. I had a fabulous salad- walnut, apple, grilled chicken, blue cheese, bacon with a vinegarette dressing, along with a glass of La Francesca(?)Pinot Grigio.

We had 3 cab drivers during our stay, and they were all native Clevelanders, won't find that in Atlanta- way cool, and they were very nice.

Wednesday- up early and did my 6 miles, I get to sleep in on Saturday, woohoo!, went in one direction till the sidewalk ran out, then went the other way and took a detour through a residential area of Independence, and spotted two deer in a shopping center parking lot! I only see "wild" life when I don't have a camera [recall the spider?]

Full day meeting- I actually knit through this one on blanket #4, I was focused on what we were discussing, and I participated. We ended early, but I was in need of a cat nap, afterwards I made a couple phone calls. Met CA in the lobby for "Happy Hour", had a wonderful Cosmopolitan. We had hoped to visit a Turkish restaurant recommended by the yarn shop ladies, but our ride had to head back to their office rather last minute, and it was too far for the hotel to take us, AND we didn't want the expense of another cab. SOOO CA and I along with another individual from the New England HIDTA went to eat at a Lebanese restaurant nearby, Aladdin's, very good. Afterwards stopped for a Starbucks decaf to go with the baklava I got at the restaurant. Back at the room watched Law and Order [totally love this show] while I worked on the Tangerine Twist, made a lot of progress on this, headed to bed for a bit of reading before lights out.

Thursday- did 4 miles on the treadmill [it wasn't working on Wednesday, which "forced" me outside. Upstairs to shower, finish packing and just enough time to grab a bite of breakfast and head to the airport. Since you always have to plan for traffic we left the hotel at 7:00 to catch a 9:30 flight, and was at the gate by 7:45, I knitted, and CA slept until time to board. We made it back to Atlanta by 11:20, Steve picked us up curb side, [thanks Steve], he dropped us off at the office, I managed to get some work done, left at 4:30, got home at 6:00, fixed dinner, went to the grocery store, [no milk, and 3 major milk drinkers in the house!] , some cleaning and got ready for Friday work, then off to bed. I think I've recovered now. This weekend should be relatively light, a few errands to run to get ready for vacation, gotta finish that SS lesson!!!!
